Location
Tapana Island is located in the islands of Vava’u in central Tonga. We can arrange your domestic air transfers from the main island as well as the road and boat transfer from the Vava’u airport. (It takes 20 minutes by road and then a short 10 minute boat ride).
Accommodation
We have two fales - La Cabana and La Casita - each sleeping a maximum of 3 persons. They have solar-powered electricity, bathrooms with shower (cold water) and private balcony with beautiful ocean views. This is a great spot to relax with a cold drink and watch the sunset! 240v power is available if required.
Dining & Entertainment
La Cabana has kitchen facilities and La Casita has shared kitchen facilities. Food can be purchased at the markets on the main island Neiafu before coming to Tapana Island.
We also have La Paella Restaurant serving authentic Spanish cuisine. Breakfast (T$15-25 per person), lunch (T$36 per person) and dinner (T$45 per person) is served - just let Maria or Eduardo know so that they can prepare your meal. Enjoy live entertainment.
The water on the island is filtered rain water which is safe to drink. Please use only what you need as we have limited supply.
Activities
Relax on the beach - the island has six private beaches to explore! There are also two kayaks and snorkeling gear for guest use. Other activities include sailing, scuba diving and horse riding ... or maybe learn the traditional art of weaving baskets and mats with the locals! There is also whale watching (June to October), boat tours to Mariners Cave, Swallows Cave, guided kart tours of the main island in VavaWhale watching (June to October) Small boat tours can be organized where you can visit close by; Mariners cave, Swallows cave and the Japanese garden Guided kart tours of Vava’u. Please let us know if you wish to participate in any of these activities so that we can arrange them for you.
